newDay is an experimental timekeeping and calendar system that helps users to set intentions for each of the ten newHours that comprise a newDay.
Introducing newTime
Did you realize that you are awake for about 1000 minutes every day? In newTime, the day starts when you wake up at 0.00, and every newHour is 100 minutes long all the way up until 9.99. 1000 minutes after your newDay starts, it’s time to sleep.
If it’s 3.85 newTime, then you know you are exactly 38.5% of the way through your day. Try doing that with traditional 24-hour time. Of course, for this to work, you need to be able to set your newDay to start at 0.00 when you wake up. Luckily, that’s easy to do with this tool, and you can choose a different start time every day.
Setting Intentions
So how will you spend your 1000 minutes? The newDay calendar gives you an easy way to create and view intentions for each newHour of the day. It only takes a couple of minutes to set intentions for an entire day, and doing so the night or morning before can majorly improve how you end up spending your time.
I created this app because I found that by doing this process I was able to create structure and focus in my days. Not only does it help to allocate time to working but also to winding down, getting off my devices, or catching up with friends. I used newDay to build newDay, and I hope it helps you to achieve your goals too.
Reflecting Your Reality
One of the features of newDay I’m most proud to share is the daylight and weather simulation. The shade of a panel reflects the daylight and weather conditions based on actual sunrise and sunset times for your current location during that newHour.
As you use newDay, your days and their location specific weather records are saved to your account, creating a running log that you can look back on to review how you spent your days, and what they were like.
