WACUP (which can be pronounced as wakeup or wac-up or however you prefer it in your native tongue) is designed to work only with the patched Winamp 5.666 release to provide bug fixes, updates of existing features and most importantly new features with the goal to eventually become it's own highly Winamp compatible media player.
WACUP makes use of the benefits of Winamp being heavily based on a plug-in system so new plug-ins can add additional features as well as allowing replacements to be created which provide better implementations over the plug-ins natively included with Winamp.
Unlike the official Winamp, this community project is active and highly motivated, because it is driven by user requirements instead of commercial interest.
Now boasting new features for the modern age of streaming from various media sites, and even the old days of chip and tracker tunes with hugely extended format support, using the newest codecs available.
Pre-equipped with the functionality to stream your own radio feeds and be your own home DJ.
Essential tools such as the waveform display, big clock and extended playlist management make this an ideal tool for semi-pro DJs.
Where licencing is available, all updated components are being made available as Open Source code.
