東港東隆宮

東港東隆宮是本省著名的王爺廟，主祀溫府千歲。溫王原系唐朝進士于奉旨巡行天下時，遇難而亡，成神之後，常巡行閩、浙沿海，佑護往來船隻，是以漳、泉二州人民對溫王崇禮有加。清康熙三十三年（西元一六九四年），東港地區設置巡檢署，漳、泉移民陸續前來定居。康熙四十五年（西元一七０六年），東港海岸「太監府」附近，即舊稱崙仔頂（今鎮海 里）海灘上，一夜之間擱置大批自福建潮沖而來的木材，上書有「東港溫記」字樣。斯時溫王亦曾顯靈指示，欲在太監府舊址建廟，並諭示信依照木材的長短大小，揀選恰如其分的用途。溫王鎮台駐蹕已定，東港信徒乃恪遵神意，展開建廟事宜，並聘請名師雕刻溫王金身，擇吉安座。光緒二十年（西元一八九四年），東港發生海嘯，濤天巨浪， 淹沒太監府，東隆宮淪陷滾滾駭浪中，險象環生，當時，避難他處的莊民皆欲搶救王爺金身，士紳林合於是發動信眾，駕筏劈開廟殿后壁，及時搶救王爺神像，剎時之間，神廟坍塌瓦解，沖逝無遺。信徒見此異象，更堅定對溫王爺的信仰。歷經大變的東港亟待重建，溫王爺適時諭示，擇定「浮水蓮花」穴地新廟址，信眾集腋成裘，匯流成海，終於完成嶄新的東隆宮。得風水之賜，每逢颱風海水倒灌或山洪急泄期，低窪地區常有淹水之苦，然東隆宮卻絲毫未受影響，誠乃一大奇蹟。日據時期，戰亂倥傯，東隆宮維護不易，傾圮之態畢現。迨抗戰勝利臺灣光復，百癈待舉，東港士紳乃於民國三十六年發起修建之議，由蔡糞擔任管理人，林庚申、蔡朝取擔任總經理，陳聯豐、張萬寶擔任會計，善男信女捐輸經費，齊心戮力完成廟殿修建工程。歲月更替，外貌隨著風雨侵蝕而班駁古舊，極需重建；民六十六年〈丁巳年〉，在全體信徒的共識下成立重建委員會，全權負責重建事宜，承蒙各界善信大德慷慨捐輸，熱誠參與，使得這項歷時七年的浩大工程得以順利於民國七十三年〈甲子年〉竣工落成，仲秋時節隆重舉行入廟登龕平安祭典。民八十六年〈丁丑年〉改建牌樓為山門並建醮。完成後的東港東隆宮金璧輝煌，氣勢磅礡，屹立布南臺灣的碧藍穹蒼下，散發出溫王爺綿綿不絕的福祉，生生不息，直至永恒！
