『百年的齋明寺 源於南海觀音』 桃園，大漢溪畔，由古意盎然的大溪老街，直趨花木扶疏的山徑，盡頭，百年古剎齋明寺內安奉的觀世音菩薩，正諦視著溪水晝夜不捨地奔流。水的遷流，宣說著世事無常的教法；然而溪水終向大海，一如齋明寺的百年流轉，從佛教至齋教，隨著時代遷變，終究，歸向了佛的本懷。 一百六十多年前，清道光30年（西元1850年），桃園大嵙崁農民李阿甲皈依三寶後，渡海赴大陸南海普陀山法雨寺出家受戒，法號性悅。爾後，性悅法師帶著自南海請回的觀世音菩薩返回故鄉，於當地結蘆清修。這是「齋明寺」與正信佛教在大嵙崁一帶扎根的初始。 『法鼓山接法務 回歸佛陀本懷』 百年前的臺灣，齋教信仰顯盛，時勢所趨，佛教道場逐漸為齋教信眾所護持，以致齋明寺除了首任住持性悅法師之外，其後的五任住持，皆為齋教居士。齋明寺創建之初，原名「福份宮」，清同治12年（西元1873年），第二任住持黃普瑟居士改建瓦葺堂宇，更名「齋明堂」，法脈轉承齋教龍華法脈；日明治44年（西元1911年），第三任住持胡普惠居士擴大改建殿宇及東西二廂；日大正15年（西元1926年），第四任住持江普梅居士禮福州的鼓山湧泉寺聖恩和尚為師，傳承法鼓山曹洞宗的禪學法脈；第五任住持江普乾居士因應日治政府之時勢，申請加入日本曹洞宗聯絡寺廟，並易名為「齋明寺」。民國87年（西元1998年），第六任住持江會觀居士期使齋明寺能革新再造、永續發展，毅然力邀法鼓山承接齋明寺的法務工作，並於民國88年（西元1999年）9月11日舉行晉山典禮，由聖嚴法師接任第七任住持。齋明寺終回到性悅法師開山的本懷，回歸佛教正統。 法鼓山倡導的「人間淨土」理念，於齋明寺，處處可見其優雅的化現。以三合院式閩南傳統建築為特色的寺院主殿與兩側護龍，謙遜地佇立在四面環繞的自然美景之中，如含苞的蓮華，以古樸典雅的氣質，呼應著觀音慈顏，溫婉地照拂來此的遊客與信眾。人與自然，人與環境和諧共生，融合成一幅人間淨土的勝景。 『結合心靈環保 古剎風華再現』 一百多年的歷史，讓齋明寺積累了豐富的文物典藏，其中最珍貴者，當屬全台唯一宋版《磧砂藏經》影本，為宋元時期三代聖尼相繼斷臂化緣勸募，歷時九十一年方竣工之木刻版本。睹物思情，遙想祖師大德堅定的道心，也更堅定了佛子的信心。 信心，也來自於運用佛法後所得的實益。為了將佛法普及到民眾日常生活中，齋明寺規畫了一系列法會共修活動、禪修、念佛、佛學課程及各項禪藝課程等，接引大眾體驗正信佛法的妙用。 百年，無非是無量劫中的剎那一瞬。回歸佛陀本懷後的齋明寺，在法鼓山理念的引導下，未來，還要在千百年的歲月中，與諸菩薩同心同願，弘法利生， 共同建設人間淨土。 『未來願景』 ．維護齋明寺古蹟之完整，並發揚光大，使成為國家重要的文化資產。 ．結合法鼓山的理念與齋明寺的古蹟特色、自然清幽的環境，成為集宗教、自然、教育、建築、藝術、人文等的正信佛教道場與佛教文化重鎮。 ．以心靈環保為核心，透過漢傳禪佛教之觀念與方法，推廣「心五四」、「心六倫」等理念，透過三大教育的具體實踐，達到世界淨化，創造和諧的世界。
