อัลกุรอาน บ้างเรียก โกหร่าน (อาหรับ: الْقُرآن‎) เป็นคัมภีร์ในศาสนาอิสลาม ชาวมุสลิมเชื่อว่าเป็นพระวจนะของอัลลอฮ์ที่ประทานผ่านทางเทวทูตญิบรีล มาสู่นบีมุฮัมมัด คำว่า กุรอาน มาจากรากศัพท์ในภาษาอาหรับแปลว่า การอ่าน หรือ อาขยานอัลลอฮ์ได้ประทานคัมภีร์อัลกรุอานแก่นบีมุฮัมมัดซึ่งชาวมุสลิมถือว่าเป็นศาสนทูตคนสุดท้าย และคัมภีร์นี้ก็เป็นคัมภีร์สุดท้ายที่อัลลอฮ์ได้ส่งมาให้แก่มวลมนุษยชาติ หลังจากนี้แล้วจะไม่มีคัมภีร์ใด ๆ จากพระเป็นเจ้าอีก คัมภีร์กรุอานนี้ได้ประทานมาเพื่อยกเลิกคัมภีร์เก่า ๆ ที่เคยได้ทรงประทานมาในอดีตนั่นคือคัมภีร์เตารอต ที่เคยทรงประทานมาแก่นบีมูซา คัมภีร์ซะบูร ที่เคยทรงประทานมาแก่นบีดาวูด (ดาวิด) และคัมภีร์อินญีลที่เคยทรงประทานมาแก่นบีอีซา (พระเยซู) เป็นคัมภีร์ที่บริบูรณ์ไม่มีการเพี้ยนเปลี่ยนแปลง ภาษาของคัมภีร์อัลกุรอานนั้นคือภาษาอาหรับ ที่ยังใช้อยู่ในปัจจุบันการศรัทธาในคัมภีร์อัลกุรอานทั้งเล่มเป็นหลักการหนึ่งที่มุสลิมทุกคนต้องศรัทธานั่นก็หมายความว่าหากไม่ศรัทธาในอัลกุรอาน หรือศรัทธาเพียงบางส่วนก็จะเป็นมุสลิมไม่ได้ เช่นเดียวกับที่ต้องศรัทธาว่าคัมภีร์อัลกุรอานนี้มีความบริบูรณ์ภายใต้การพิทักษ์ของพระผู้เป็นเจ้า ด้วยเหตุนี้จึงไม่มีการสังคายนาคัมภีร์อัลกุรอานเลย ตั้งแต่วันที่ท่านศาสดาเสียชีวิตจนกระทั่งถึงปัจจุบัน โดยมีความเหมือนกันในทุกฉบับบนโลก และภาษาอาหรับในคัมภีร์จึงเป็นภาษาโบราณภาษาเดียว ที่มีใช้อย่างคงเดิมอยู่จนกระทั่งวันนี้ได้ และได้กลายเป็นภาษามาตรฐานของประเทศอาหรับทั้งหลาย เป็นภาษาวิชาการของอิสลาม...
