It can be configured not only to stream, but to manage your media, scrobble audio, transcode/convert media, share media, upload/download media, and much more. It supports multiple users, allows for commenting and chat, and access control for each user. Airsonic is a fork of the Subsonic fork Libresonic. It is the most actively developed free and open source fork of Subsonic (since both Subsonic and Madsonic are now closed-source).
