It provides a variety of planning tools and a unicque setup for zoning. Cities XL is sequel to City Life (released in 2006 for both Windows and Nintendo DS). New versions (released by Focus Home Interactive) Cities XL 2011, Cities XL 2012 and Cities XL Platinum (2013) improved the initial release by fixes as well as adding buildings and new maps.
