GNOME Terminal

GNOME Terminal is a terminal emulator for the GNOME desktop environment written by Havoc Pennington and others. Terminal emulators allow users to execute commands using a real UNIX shell while remaining on their graphical desktop.[

Terminator

Terminator, multiple terminals in one window. The goal of this project is to produce a useful tool for arranging terminals. Guake terminal

Yakuake

Yakuake is a drop-down (Quake-style) terminal emulator based on KDE Konsole technology. Its design was inspired from consoles in computer games such as Quake which slide down from the top of the screen when a key is pressed, and slide back up when the key is pressed again. Yakuake, in the same way as Kate, KDevelop and Konqueror, relies on Konsole to offer the terminal functionality, embedding it in the application as a KPart component.

Terminal

Terminal (also referred to as Terminal.app) is a terminal emulator included in Apple's Mac OS X operating system. It originated in Mac OS X's predecessors, NEXTSTEP and OPENSTEP, and allows the user to interact with the computer through a command line interface. On Mac OS X, Terminal is located in the /Applications/Utilities folder.

Tilix

Tilix is a tiling terminal emulator which uses the VTE GTK+ 3 widget with the following features: - Layout terminals in any fashion by splitting them horizontally or vertically. - Terminals can be re-arranged using drag and drop both within and between windows. - Terminals can be detached into a new window via drag and drop. - Input can be synchronized between terminals so commands typed in one terminal are replicated to the others.

Alacritty

Alacritty is the result of frustration with existing terminal emulators. Using vim inside tmux in many terminals was a particularly bad experience. None of them were ever quite fast enough. Even so, Linux does have some decent alternatives. For example, urxvt and st give good experiences. The major downside with those options is difficulty of configuration and inability to run on non-X11 platforms.
