Radiocells.org is a community project to collect informations on cell tower and wifi base stations and bring them on a map.
The project itself was founded in 2009, then under the name openbmap.org.
Since then approximately 700 thousand cell tower locations and 10 million wifi locations have been collected.
This data is available under free licences, in the case of cell data under a CC BY-SA 3.0 licence, wifi data under ODbL licence
A common use case of our cell tower database and wifi location database is geolocation for which we also provide an Android app.
Other use cases are in the scientific area, e.g. in-depth analysis of communication networks or cell coverage.
For this purpose we also provide raw measurement data
