Pericles benefits people with disabilities, eye fatigue or those who want to increase their productivity. It helps you read the news, scientific articles, and many other text resources.
Built with a varied range of voices for Mac, and a bit more limited for Windows, the app is free. So, enjoy your meal or do your chores while Pericles does the reading.
Features guide
Auto-scan:
After you’ve reached your favorite article, use Auto-scan - this feature will attempt to identify the main content for you, and parse each paragraph into an audio section.
Select area:
If the previous fails, you can always choose Select Area, then hover over the page and target the desired box.
Upload PDF:
If your study or work material is on a portable document format, be relieved! Just browse any file from your computer via the Upload PDF feature - once the content has loaded a popup will reveal it’s contents!
Otherwise select the text, right-click and you should find “Pericles: Text to speech”, a newly added context item.
