Travelindicator takes an interactive and data-driven approach to generating travel ideas. While the rest of the travel world is still writing extensive travel guides that go into minute detail of travel destinations you had already chosen to travel to anyway, our travel idea generator is all about letting you discover new holiday destinations and giving you just a quick review of what each has to offer.
We currently cover a rapidly growing 836 destinations and associate each of them to a more or lesser extent with 23 standard travel themes. Our users vote on these themes per destination, thereby creating a theme mapping that in turn helps others discover them. A given destination may be classified as having only few (e.g. 20%) cultural attractions, a moderate amount (e.g. 40%) of nature, but beaches aplenty (100%). Or it may just be entirely the opposite. Travelindicator puts the user in charge, letting you pick and fine-tune the type of holiday you want. For every destination you check out we give you the basics in the form of a (sometimes brutally honest) review which gives you attractions and the key facts to understand about a place.
