Tunr wants to make it easier for people to find and share music online on one website. Also, it wants to make it easier to follow music influencers (record stores, artists, selectors etc.). Youtube is used due to it being one of the biggest music providers online.
-For record stores the main priority was to make it easy for customers to listen to new arrivals and have buy option. The buy option works as such that customers can listen to the records and get redirected to a website where the record is sold (own website or Discogs, for example).
-For selectors the goal was to make it easy for people to share the tunes they want through the Youtube search function. Search what tune you want, choose a snippet (30 seconds) and post the tune to your profile page.
-For artists it is a way of showing their audience what they find good enough to share and to promote their own music.
In all cases users can tune-in to others and create a customized feed.
