Vine is a VNC solution for Mac OSX that was developed at Redstone Software which was acquired by TestPlant. Although TestPlant continues to host the documentation and up to version 4 of the software, current development of the server portion is being maintained via a github fork: https://github.com/stweil/OSXvnc
VNC (virtual network computing) is a remote desktop application based on the RFB (remote frame buffer) protocol. It allows you to send keyboard and mouse events to a remote machine and see the screen of that machine over a TCP/IP network. VNC is used in a wide variety of ways including IT helpdesks, remote system administration, education, and of course test automation! Vine is VNC for Mac, both the VNC Server that runs on the system to be controlled, and the VNC Client that controls the server remotely.
