This is an idea I found in the SMBX fan game, but I also found that the main deficiency of SMBX lied in a strict data standard and its being closed-source to the Mario fan game series.
The engine is going to be 100% compatible with SMBX to support lot of existing levels and episodes made for this game engine. The main parts it contain will be a (SMBX compatible) game engine and a tool-kit for creating games.
